There is a sypware protect 2009 alert that somehow got on my computer by itself. It’s on the bottom right hand corner of my screen beside my clock along with a couple other things. I want to know how to remove it because it’s irritating everytime I’m on a site it keeps popping up telling my my computer is being attacked by a virus.

Sometime ago EKARU sent me to a website (this it was MS) to download a program that would automatically run @ 2am and look for adware/spyware. The download was free and it would show me the threat and how much of a threat it was to my computer - I can't remember the name of it I just know that it worked … Im having the same problems as I was before and would like to find this program again.

I use spybot but its just not as effective and MacAfee & other virus software is just way to expensive.

There is a virus and spyware removal software that is available for free download. It was on my computer but was accidentally deleted and it had a bug that was yellow and black for a symbol in the bottom right corner of a computer. If anyone has any info on it, it will be deeply appreciated.

I always just use the default and let superantispyware take care of them. But I’ve noticed that everytime I do a new scan a bunch of the new or same threats appear again so it seems that this program cannot completely remove the from my system or am I not doing it correctly?

So I tried going onto the internet on my laptop, but it wouldnt work because Spyware Guard 2008 messed it up. So since the internet on the laptop doesnt work, I guess that means I cant download anything to get rid of Spyware Guard 2008. So what do I do to get rid of it?

I need a free program that won't just find the infections, and then say that I need to register to remove them all, I need one that is free for private use, and that will delete all infections without registering for anything. I've used several programs that can FIND where the virus has infected an area, find files that need to be deleted, but I need something that can truly kill the viruses/malware/spyware/etc.
Any ideas? Right now, I'm using windows defender, spybot, A-squared, and ad-aware. Anything better out there?

Please no annoying answers, like 'There's no point because it dosn't get rid of absolutely everything', without elaborating, I want an objective answer. This is also assuming that I haven't been tricked into downloading a virus. Will deleting a user account remove adware and spyware picked up by browsing the internet?
