I use both ad aware and spybot…
There are alot of them out there…Ad-Aware Se is great…Windows Defender….Spybot Search and destroy….
I use Ad-Aware from LavaSoft.
It is not the only one available and I use it in combination with a Anti-Virus as well as SpywareBlaster that turns off settings in your browser to minimize the chances of getting spyware in the first place.
One of the deepest scanning and best is Spycatcher express which is free.
Spybot is a great thing to detect spyware, and you might also try firewall
